State Fund and Cal/OSHA Schedule English and Spanish Seminars in Santa Rosa on Heat Illness Prevention
SANTA ROSA, CA --- State Compensation Insurance Fund and Cal/OSHA Consultation are holding free local seminars in an effort to prevent heat illness by encouraging employers to protect workers during hot summer weather.
The events are scheduled for June 2 in Santa Rosa.
Seminar information and resources will help employers, supervisors, and trainers prevent heat illness among their workers.
Attendees will learn best practice solutions for protecting their employees from heat-related illnesses, and how to update their safety programs to include a heat illness prevention plan and comply with heat illness standards.
As an added incentive, those who attend the event can receive continuing education credit from Cal/OSHA and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) toward their Farm Labor Contractor continuing education requirement.
Registration and complimentary continental breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. for the morning session in English, which ends at 11:00 a.m. An afternoon session will be held in Spanish, with registration and refreshments at 12:30 p.m. The seminar will run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The seminars take place at the State Fund Santa Rosa Regional Office, 1450 Neotomas Avenue. These events are free and open to the public. Early registration is encouraged due to limited seating.
