State Fund and Cal/OSHA Seminar in San Jose Will Emphasize Dangers of Heat at Job Sites
SAN JOSE, CA --- State Compensation Insurance Fund and Cal/OSHA Consultation Service are holding a free local seminar in an effort to prevent heat illness by encouraging employers to protect workers during hot summer weather.
The event is scheduled for June 9 in San Jose.
Seminar information and resources will help employers, supervisors, and trainers prevent heat illness among their workers.
Attendees will learn best practice solutions for protecting their employees from heat-related illnesses, and how to update their safety programs to include a heat illness prevention plan and comply with heat illness standards.
As an added incentive, those who attend the event can receive continuing education credit from Cal/OSHA and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) toward their Farm Labor Contractor continuing education requirement.
Registration and complimentary continental breakfast begin at 8:30 a.m. The presentation ends at 11:00 a.m.
The seminar takes place at the State Fund San Jose Regional Office, 6203 San Ignacio Avenue.
This event is free and open to the public. Early registration is encouraged due to limited seating.
The seminar is part of State Fund’s Employer Education Series offered throughout the state on a variety of workers’ compensation topics.
