State Fund Dividend Plan to Include Non-Renewing Policies

Vacaville, CA - On November 18th, 2011, State Fund announced plans to disburse $50 million to qualifying policyholders in the form of a premium credit that is based on 2011 estimated annual premiums and will be applied during the 2012 policy year. The credit would be available to 2011 policyholders who:

  • Paid their premiums timely and kept their policy in good standing in 2011,
  • Renew their policy with State Fund in 2012 and continue to pay premiums timely and accurately, and
  • Finalize their final audit bill for 2011 within six months of expiration.

State Fund Appoints Len Welsh as Chief for Workplace Safety

Vacaville, CA – State Compensation Insurance Fund announced today that it has appointed Len Welsh as the head of workplace safety for the organization. Welsh will be charged with directing State Fund’s strategies to advance occupational safety and health in California’s workplaces. He will focus on developing methods for improving safety and health practices, and reducing the rates of workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses.

State Fund Declares $50 million in Dividends for Policyholders

Vacaville, CA - State Compensation Insurance Fund, California’s largest workers’ compensation insurance carrier, today announced plans to disburse a $50 million dividend to qualifying policyholders in the form of a premium credit. This is approximately 5.2 percent of estimated annual premium for the 2011 policy year.

State Fund Announces January Rate Filings, Incentives for California Farm Bureau

Vacaville, CA - State Compensation Insurance Fund today announced it has filed a new rating plan with the California Department of Insurance. The plan adopts the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau’s rate relativity adjustments for new and renewed policies effective December 1, 2011, but holds the line on its overall rate level.

San Francisco, CA – The Board of Directors of California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Bernyce M. Peplowski as its Medical Director. Peplowski served as State Fund’s interim Medical Director for six months prior to her confirmation.
